More than 25 years ago, Mr. Gerritsen founded a trading company in Amsterdam in seat cushions, various car accessories and mechanical steering wheel locks. This company developed into a trading company with a wide range of camping furniture. They added mattresses for caravan-camper-boat under the collective name DEFA Dream.

In 2018 DEFA Europe BV moved to Leusden and became part of the group that includes the Mataalwarenfabriek UMEFA and UMEFA Furniture. Now they are 3 companies under one roof.

Due to the large overlap of customers in the camping industry benefits can be gained by sending combined orders of these 3 suppliers to their dealers.

The joint webshop gives the retailer a one-stop purchasing option, making it easier to reach the free domicile amount. In this way it is easier to complete the range of products or expand the stock in the stores.
